UX Writing is the craft of writing clear, helpful, and human words inside digital products — like buttons, error messages, and prompts.
It’s not marketing copy or blog posts. It’s the tiny bits of text that guide you through a site or app: “Sign in,” “Oops, something went wrong,” “Try again later.” Done right, UX writing makes you feel like the interface understands you. Done wrong, it confuses, frustrates, or stops you in your tracks.
It’s kind of like a helpful airport sign. You don’t need to stop and think — you just glance and know exactly where to go. UX writers work closely with designers, developers, and researchers to make sure those little bits of language actually make sense.
